Dear Renee,

I'm currently going through a little issue. There is this woman who lives on the floor below my roommate and me. Well I've had my eye on her from the beginning, but because I knew my roommate had a thing for her and I had a girlfriend at the time, I stood on the sidelines to avoid stepping on his toes.

Well six months down the road, I come to find out she has a thing for me. We got together a few times and always had fun; she even spent the night a few times.

Now here's the problem. We had a party one night and she came over, but I passed out early. Well the next morning she was not at the apartment and neither was my roommate, but his car was. A close girlfriend of my mine came downstairs that morning amid my search for my love interest, and told me that she noticed my roommate was getting pretty chummy with my girl.

Now I'm the type of person that doesn't overreact until people start putting things in my head. But the thing is, my roommate wouldn't even look at me when he got home, and when I confronted my crush she just denied everything, but she was acting strange all week. I don't know if I'm reading too much into it because even when we are all hanging out together, my roommate and her are always goofing around, but she comes to bed with me. So what do you think?

Dear Roommate,

This situation is clear: she is playing both of you. Doesn't anyone communicate clearly anymore? If you are good friends with your roommate, you both need to sit down and discuss the truth. This woman sounds like a player who is enjoying the attention. This is a very immature situation that requires some evaluation -- be straight with yourself and decide whether this is the type of woman you want. I don't think so...
